Kindle Fire Cover: May 2012

sew-whats-up:

So, this is the kindle fire cover that I made as a birthday/graduation present for my friend Hannah Bullock. I don’t have a kindle fire, but I got the measurements from the Amazon website, so hopefully it all fits. The black ribbon is wired and sewn on. I like the look of it.

Am I a breakfast BAMF? Why yes, yes I am.
Pictured above: Cinnamon pancakes stuffed with chocolate chips and marshmallows then decked on top with bananas, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, syrup, marshmallows and chocolate chipsHokay! Recipe time. The base for this one comes from my great grandma. It’s a wonderful base that I use for all of my pancakes.Base Recipe:- 1 1/4 cups Flour (All-purpose)- 2 Tablespoons Sugar- 1 1/3 cups Milk (Whole or 2%, skim makes it wonky….Plus, skim milk is just dirty dishwater, why the hell you drinkin’ that shit? Only thing worse is powdered)- 3 Tablespoons Canola oil- 2 teaspoons baking powder- 3/4 teaspoon of salt- 1 whole egg.Instructions (without additions):First off, toss all that bizness into a bowl and stir. I know, it looks like there’s a ton of liquids in there and not enough flour, but TRUST ME, it’s perfect, don’t fuck with it. Use beaters, use a fork, use your frick’n hand, either way, mix it all up till it’s a goopey soupy mass of beige perfection. Got that? Good. Now, get a pan/skillet/griddle/piece of sheet metal over a fire whatever is at your disposal. Butter that shit up, don’t want your pancakes sticking now do you? Try to get it somewhere around 400 degrees F, or just hot enough that if you flick water onto it, it sizzles. Using a 1/4th cup measuring cup, scoop out the batter and drizzle it into the pan. Don’t flip shit early! Pancakes are ready to flip when they have 119 bubbles in them.I’m kidding, by the time you count them, they’d be burnt. Luckily, I got a pic, they should look like this —-> http://i47.tinypic.com/2nlqp3s.png or if you lightly lift the edge and see it nice and golden brown underneath. Once you’ve flipped them, they are done when they are done. Give them a minute or so. Do the lift check or just guess.Want to be making the deliciousness above? Then just toss these in after you’ve mixed up the batter and before you pour it into the pan:- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon- 1 Tablespoon sugar- a double fisted grip of marshmallows- Enough chocolate chips to keep your dentist in business for the rest of the year- about 3 Tablespoons of syrupHonestly, with the chocolate chips and Marshmallows, it’s however much you want. Butter your pan good, dem chips and mallows like to stick. It’s not too bad, but whatevs. This recipe is made even more awesome if you fry up some slices of bananas too. Seriously. Top the pancakes however you like. Don’t want chocolate chip and marshmallow pancakes? This base is great for adding literally anything to it. Be creative, be inventive, be hungry. I’ve even put bacon and sausage in my pancakes before. Goes great with fried eggs over medium.
